at first my mind spat out that yellow lanterns were fuelled/powered by hope and my heart broke a little BUT THEN I LOOKED IT UP AND IT MAKES MORE SENSE NOW

Lieumon week 2 / Day 5: Family.

I wish I could put my idea behind this into some sort of words but I suck at this explaining business :’| Just basically that family isn’t about blood-relation, it’s about who you love and are close with and feel comfortable and safe with. So Amon might have left his blood-relatives behind, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a family (even if he doesn’t realize it).

Orrr you can ignore my ramblings and just think that family = domesticity -> domestic cuteness. That works too.

(The couch came from Hiroshi. Amon at first protested having such a fancy thing in his office, arguing that a piece of furniture designed for slacking off had no place there. With some persuasion from a certain lieutenant, he eventually came around to accept that maybe having a nap every now an then wasn’t so bad after all.)

Second Lieumon Week - Day 1 “Spirit World”

And this will be the last lost cause he will fight for.

So this song inspired me some epic apocalyptic settings for this prompt - and Lieutenant (called Liem here; it’s a Vietnamese name meaning “integrity”) is no man to sit and wait for his end to come when the world is crumbling down!
I imagine that Amon sneaked back to the human realm to warn Korra about what was about to happen, thus possessing the mask Lieutenant had been keeping as a bitter memento. He appears wrapped in shredded clothes, damp with blood and water (as you’d expect from someone who blown up on a fucking boat).
Maybe he seeks redemption, maybe he just sticks around to see how far will Liem go this time. I’ll let you decide on that :-D
